Albums
The discography of American rock group Toto includes 13 studio albums, 4 live albums, as well as several compilations. In addition to the release of original music, Toto has also done collaborations with other artists and on soundtracks for films. The group has won a number of Grammy Awards for their work.
Before Toto was formed the members of the group played session work for other musicians. Drummer Jeff Porcaro, bassist David Hungate, and keyboardist David Paich (the son of session percussionist Marty Paich and brother of guitarist Joe Porcaro) played on Boz Scaggs album from 1975 Silk Degrees. Toto was formed in 1976 following the collaboration.
The band’s third album, Turn Back, marked a departure from the more progressive sound of their earlier albums and was criticized for its lack of hit singles. In 1985, lead singer Fergie Frederiksen resigned from the group, and the band held auditions to find the new frontman. Guitarist Steve Lukather was chosen, and the group recorded their album Fahrenheit in 1986.
In 1998, Toto celebrated its 20th anniversary by scouring through demos and tapes from the past to release a special album called Toto XX. The album was a hit by fans, and the band embarked on a tour with former members Bobby Kimball, Steve Porcaro and Joseph Williams.
In the course of the tour for the album 40 Trips Around the Sun, drummer Leland Sklar left the group and was replaced by Shem von Schroeck. In 2017, Toto released a double-CD live set titled Falling in Between, which included live recordings from the tour and an interview with the band.

Toto is a rock band from the United States that was formed in Van Nuys in Greater Los Angeles in 1977. The group consists of Steve Lukather (vocalist/guitarist), David Paich (bassist), Steve Porcaro (keyboardist/vocalist), Jeff Porcaro and Joseph Williams who is a guitarist and vocalist. The eclectic mix of influences that the group has is what has made it one of the most well-known groups of all time. The album Toto IV released in 1983 earned them international praise. The group embarked on an international tour to promote the album following its success. During the tour, Bobby Kimball, the lead vocalist, was arrested for drug-related charges. At the conclusion of the tour the band decided to let him go and hire singer/guitarist Joseph Williams to take his place. Drummer David Hungate also left the group after the tour. Leland Sklar replaced him.

The album also included a cover version of Weezer’s song “Hash Pipe” that the band added after hearing it on the radio.
