Microsoft’s Xiaoice Chatbot to become its own Company In China

When web users in China are wanting to talk with AI just for fun, they’re unlikely to turn to popular voice assistants like Apple’s Siri or Xiao AI. Instead, China’s “enjoyable” AI of choice really comes from Microsoft, and it will quickly be an independent business.

The process will be completed in the next few months, the business included. Chinese news website Caixin reported that the Covid-19 pandemic and tensions in between the US and China accelerated the spin-off process.
